Sustainable ways to maintain your health goals this year
I hope you’re all easing back into your routines and feeling great, both in mind and body. The new year offers a fresh opportunity to focus on our health after a season of relaxation and reconnecting with family and friends. It’s that time of year when we feel motivated to start new exercise classes, drink more water or add more whole foods to our plates. I wholeheartedly encourage you to take small, sustainable steps toward your health goals, so these changes stick for the long term.
Here are a few tips to help make your health goals last:
Find your “why.” What’s your personal reason for wanting to feel healthy?
Start with time. Carve out dedicated time each week to move your body or prepare a nutritious meal.
Set small, achievable goals. For example, start with a goal like walking 30 minutes every day. Gradually increase time or intensity as you progress.
Simplify when life gets busy. Life will get hectic—write down ways to keep your routine intact, even when time is tight.
Make it fun! Join an exercise class with a friend or get creative in the kitchen with a healthy recipe.
Build community. Share your health journey with others who are on a similar path.
Make sure it’s something YOU enjoy. Choose activities and habits that bring you joy and satisfaction!
If you're anything like me, staying active during the dark winter months can be a challenge. That’s why I’m so excited to be leading the Glow Integrative Clinic’s Run Club this year, alongside Liv Rahal, starting this Thursday, January 23rd, at 6 p.m. Liv and I work together at Glow Integrative Clinic, and we’ll be training for a 10K over 14 weeks—whether you're planning to run the TC 10K this April or just want to get back into running. It’s a great way to stay motivated, build community, and get outside during the colder months. Along the way, some of Glow's practitioners will also host mini info sessions before our runs!
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, you can sign up here. I look forward to seeing you there! 😊
